Abstract:To identify the Culex pipiens molestus and their resistance levels to five common insecticides in Jining,Shandong Province. Larvae of Culex were collected in the semi-underground garage of the community,and the collected Culex were subjected to preliminary morphological and molecular biological identification to determine the species of Culex. Resistance to DDVP,propoxur,cypermethrin,deltamethrin and Bacillus thuringiensis israelensis(Bti)were tested with larval impregnation method. The results showed that the collected larvae were Cx. pipiens molestus,which was first reported of Cx. pipiens molestus Shandong Province. The resistance ratio of DDVP,propoxur,cypermethrin,deltamethrin and Bti were 117.34,53.47,113.50,140.00 and 2.71,respectively. As a new species of mosquito in Shandong Province,Cx. pipiens molestus is necessary to be studied on its biological behavior and epidemiological significance.
