Abstract:To investigate the contamination status of Yersinia bacteria, biological type, serum type, virulence genes, antibiotic sensitivity and molecular characteristics in raw meat and community refrigerators in Beijing. The results showed 17 Yersinia strains were isolated from 60 raw meats and 60 refrigerator swabs with the positive rates of 21.67% and 6.67%, respectively. All Yersinia strains were sensitive to chloramphenicol, ciprofloxacin and other 8 antibiotics. Higher resistance rates for Cefazolin and ampicillin of 76.47% (13/17) and 52.94% (9/17) were found. Two Yersinia enterocolitis strains were resistant to 11 antibiotics. Except 2 Y. intermediate strains could not be digested by NotI, 14 PFGE bands were found in other 15 strains with the similarity of 0 ~ 100%. In conclusion, Yersinia was a potential pollution source of raw meat and community refrigerators in Beijing, with high drug resistance rates to cefazolin and ampicillin. Moreover, polymorphism distribution were observed by PFGE subtyping tests.
