Abstract:To determine the risk of imported dengue cases and the risk of local mosquito-borne transmission of dengue in Nanjing in 2020, and to provide basis for the formulation of prevention and control strategies for local dengue transmission. Descriptive epidemiological methods were used to analyze the dengue epidemic situation in Nanjing from 2015 to 2019. Experiments and field investigations were conducted to collect dengue vector density, drug resistance and control effect data in Nanjing. Qualitative methods were used for risk analysis and assessment based on collected data. The results showed that June to November was the peak period of dengue in Nanjing, and the peak period of larvae and adult mosquito density was July to September. Resistance to five commonly used insecticides in Aedes albopictus was found. The average treatment times was 10.3 at each emergency treatment point, and the rate of compliant treatments was 55.56%. In conclusion, the imported dengue cases were still found in Nanjing in 2020, and July-September will be the peak of local transmission. Therefore, the management of ports and hospitals should be strengthened, insecticide should be used scientifically and regularly to carry out emergency treatment for dengue mosquito vectors. Moreover, a dynamic hierarchical warning system should be established to scientifically prevent and control dengue epidemic.
