Abstract:Aim To assess the clinical application evaluation of testing the specific IgG4 in sera of cerebral cysticercosis patients Method The specific IgG4 in sera was tested and compared with infectiosity of cysticercus in patient’s brain tissue, clinical manifestation, side reaction of anti-cysticercus and so on Results No significant relationship was found between the level of specific IgG4 in sera of these cases and history of taeniasis However, the positive rate and intensity of specific IgG4 in sera of cerebral cysticercosis patients with subcutaneous nodules was found to be significantly higher than those in sera with simple cerebral cysticercosis patients There're no differences of specific IgG4 levels between the simple cerebral cysticercosis patients and cases with subcutaneous nodules disappeared before collection of sera The patient’s infectiosity of cysticercus and different courses of treatment or aside reaction of anti-cysticercus therapy all significant relationship with the level of specific IgG4 in sera Conclusion This method can be used to assess the disease status and instruct clinic application of anti-cysticercus therapy
