Abstract:Aim To evaluate the drug sensitivity and pathogenicity of S.suis from human and swine,to analyse the homogeneity of the strains of S.suis.Methods Drug sensitive test were carried by K-B;attack test were carried on rabbit and rat by S.suis;Study of homogeneity were carried through by Thalli fatty acid profile analysis and randomly amplified polymorphic DNA analysis. Results S.suis from human and swine were sensitive to potassium penicillin, chloramphonicol, cefradine, cefuroxime, ceftriaxone, cefotaxime, rocephin, vancomycin, ampicillin, erythromycin, but not sensitive to tetracycline and streptomycin.Rat was not sensitive to the strains, but rabbit was sentive and went die after inoculated with S.suis.Thalli fatty acid profile analysis and randomly amplified polymorphic DNA analysis showed:the relationship among the strains were close,so between the strains and reference S.suis serotype 2, but the relationship between the strains and other 7 kinds of streptococcus, such as S.sanguis,S.Agalactiae etc,and with entorococcus were far. Conclusion All the strains of S.suis from human and swine are confirmed to be S.suis serotype 2, there pathogenicity are strong, homogeneity exist among S.suis from human and swine.
