Abstract:Abstract: In order to study pathology change in the brain of experimental rat infected with paragonimiasis, six healthy adult of male SD rats were randomly divided into brain damage model group(n=3) and control group(n=3). Brain damage model group rats were established by injecting adult worm antigen of P. skrjabini into the brain with stereotactic microinjection apparatus, control group rats were injected saline into the brain. Twenty-four hours after injection, rat brain tissue were obtained , fixed and sliced. The histopathology and ultrastructure pathology change of the rat brain were studied by light and electron microscopy. There were brain tissue edema, focal necrosi, neuron shrinkage, dissolution of Nissl, disappearance of neuritis, reaction of mononuclear cells and glial cells around the hematoma in the antigen injection rat, under light microscopy. There were cerebral cortex neurons swelling, nuclear translocation and irregular shape, uneven nuclear membrane, nuclear transfer overflow, flocculent chromatin, mitochondrial swelling, expansion of rough endoplasmic reticulum,more lipofuscin in the antigen injection rat, under ultrastructural microscopy. The results suggest that there are histopathology and ultrastructure pathology change in brain of rats injected with antigen of P. skrjabini,
