Dengue fever outbreak in a district of Fuzhou, Fujian, China, 2015

Abstract：We investigated the intensity and mode of transmission of a dengue fever outbreak in Gulou District, Fuzhou City to provide the evidence for dengue fever control strategies. We collected epidemiological information of all cases, and patient?s serum to detect the antigen, antibody and nucleic acid of dengue virus. Breteau index of Aedes albopictus was monitored in the community and the surrounding area where the outbreak occurred. A total of 20 cases caused by type I dengue fever virus were found, the attack rate was 0.32%, and the outbreak lasted for 17 days. This is the first dengue fever outbreak in Gulou District of Fuzhou City, the control measures are effective and no secondary cases occurred.
