Abstract:To detect the Leptospira carried by rats in Jiangxi Ports and Entry-Exit Inspection and Quarantine Bureau’s (CIQ) supervision areas, rats captured from 2 ports and 9 supervision areas of Jiangxi were tested during July to December, 2015. Fluorescent quantitative PCR and specificity PCR amplification were used to test the samples. There were 12 positive cases of Leptospira among the 107 rats (11.2%), including 6 cases of Rattus norvegicus, 3 cases of Rattus losea, 1 case of Rattus flavipectus and 2 cases of Rattus niviventer, which were captured from Changbei airport, Kangtilong, Nanfeng, Yingtan and Ruijin CIQ’s supervision areas. Homology comparison and phylogenetic analysis showed that there were 11 cases of Leptospira interrogans and 1 case of Leptospira borgpetersenii. Therefore, the study could confirm the existence of Leptospira interrogans and Leptospira borgpetersenii in Jiangxi Ports and CIQ’s supervision areas. And those two kinds of PCR detection methods could be applied to the Leptospira detection in ports and supervision areas.
