Abstract:Usutu virus is an arbovirus isolated from African mosquito in the last century, and has since been proved to be a member of the family Flaviviridae. In the last decade or so, the virus has been isolated many times not only from mosquitoes in many African countries, but also from many countries in Europe, thousands of kilometres away from Africa. A large number of bird deaths caused by Usutu virus infection and even human infections have been found. Usutu virus has become a new, long-distance transmission of arboviruses, which has attracted international attention. Usutu virus has not been found in mosquitoes in China, nor has it been reported to infect animals and human beings. This paper summarizes the international research progress of Usutu virus in order to promote the relevant research in China.
