Abstract:In order to understand the role of the parasite in the prevalence of echinococcosis in Qinghai province, the genetic diversity of E.granulosus was assessed by using 3 mitochondrial target genes,i.e.coxI,nadI and atp6,in which the genetic polymorphism of 55 isolates of E.granulsus(37 strains isolated from humans and 18 from animals) were analyzed. It was demonstrated that the genetic homology of these isolates with the complete mitochondrial G1 genome referenced in GenBank(AF297617) was over 90%.A total of 1327 bps were sequenced and 13 distinct genotypes were identified which had been registered under GenBank accession numbers. In this study,we found several original genotypes which seems to be endemic in a remote mountain area and has not been identified elsewhere, but we also found 6 wide-spread genotypes which may benefit the migration from humans, dogs and livestock all over the world.
