Abstract:serum antibody levels in patients with trichinosis after therapy with albendazole were observed by indirect fluorescent antibody test(IFAT)using frozen sections of Trichinella spiralis larvae as antigen. The results showed that the antibody positive rate and antibody titer of the patients with trichinosis after therapy were obviously higher than that before therapy. The phenomena could be considered as a objective criterion of effective treatment for trichinosis. Otherwise, the antibody detection time was one to two weeks aheadof time. The antibody levels began to fall evidently 1 month after therapy, the antibody negative rate was up to 75% 4 months after therapy. Hence, it was reasonable to consider that IFAT was of certain value for checking up the short-term and the long-term therapeutic effect of human trichinosis.
