Abstract:The aim of the present study was investigating virus in wild and domesticated Mongolian gerbil to establish Beijing criterions of detection of virus in Mongolian gerbil. Multiple clone rabbit antibody against IgG of gerbil was prepared and marked by HRP. Serum of wild Mongolian gerbil from Yinchuan city and Hohehot Municipality and laboratory gerbil breeding in barrier system were collected and tested antibody of Hanta Virus, LMC, Sendai virus, Ectromelia virus, and M-MHV by indirect ELISA method. The positive ratio was calculated. The titer lever of rabbit antibody against gerbil IgG was high (1:64000) tested by ELISA and could be used to detect serum antibody of virus. The antibody of M-MLV in wild gerbil from Yinchuan city is positive (6.0%). However, it is negative in wild gerbil from Hohehot Municipality and domesticated gerbil. The antibody of M-MLV in LMC in wild gerbil from Hohehot Municipality is positive (13.3%). But it is negative in wild gerbil from Yinchuan city and domesticated gerbil. The antibody of Sendai virus is positive in gerbil from three source with comparatively high level (40%-53.3%). The antibody of virus in wild Mongolian gerbil from two districts and domesticated gerbil is different in species and infection rate. These factors should be considered in establishing Beijing criterions of detection of virus in Mongolian gerbil.
