Abstract:Abstract: Objective To investigate effect of acetyl boswellia acid (ABA) on formation of granulation induced by Schistosoma japonicum egg and its mechanism of action. Methods 6 week old SPF level C57 mice divided random into 5 group: Group A, B, C and D were infected Schistosoma japonicum cercariae 20 ± 2. Group E was acted as normal mice. Group A and B were given intraperitoneally ABA 280mg/(kg?d)x20d, 140mg/(kg?d)x20d, respectively, on the 21days after infection. Group C was given intraperitoneally injection of solvents cyclodextrin 280mg/(kg?d)x20d. Group D without any treatment. Executed when all the 12 - week - old mice, collecte serum of blood sampling. Serum ALT and AST were detected in transaminase kit; Serum leukotriene B4(LTB4)were detected in ELISA kit. Preparation of middle lobe of liver tissue of mice produced organization fixed, slices of hematoxylin - eosin(HE)stained, observing egg Granuloma of the liver area. Results ALT, AST and levels of LTB4 in Group A is significantly less than that of group C and D(P<0.05), ALT, AST and levels of LTB4 in group B is lower than that of group C and D, but no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Egg Granuloma area in Group A is significantly less than group C and D (P<0.05). Group B egg Granuloma although the area is less than C and D, but no statistically significant difference (P>0.05). Conclusion ABA on suppression has certain effects of inflammation in Schistosoma japonicum egg granuloma, description of ABA to reduce LTB4 generates, is one of the mechanisms of inhibition of granulomatous inflammation.
