Abstract:Campylobacter jejuni is an important zoonotic pathogen that causes various diseases in animals and humans. The antimicrobial resistance in fluoroquinolone and macrolide of Campylobacter jejuni has been widely reported recently. In this article, we will review the mechanisms of antimicrobial resistance developed by Campylobacter jejuni, focusing on fluoroquinolone and macrolide resistance. The deep understanding for fluoroquinolone and macrolide resistance mechanism of Campylobacter jejuni could aid the control of this pathogen, which provides the guarantee for the food safety and human health.
