Abstract:As a member of Bcl-2 family, Mcl-1 (myeloid cell Leukemia-1) is a kind of highly adjustable reactive gene at the early stage of differentiation with a short half-life period. It is also the only one protein molecule containing proliferating cell nuclear antigen (PCNA) structure in the family. Many tissues and cell lines have the expression of Mcl-1 that is the key upstream factor for controlling apoptosis. In high expression of infected macrophages, it plays an important role in existence, apoptosis, cycle, and differentiation control of cells. Suppressing the expression of Mcl-1 gene or cutting off the signal pathway of adjusting the expression of Mcl-1 gene may effectively induce cell apoptosis. This paper will further sum up the research development of diseases related to Mcl-1 gene and macrophages apoptosis, and mainly focus on what a role it plays in pathogenic infection.
