Abstract:Enterovirus infection can lead to a variety of important human diseases and bring great threat to human health and life. When enterovirus infects host cells, some cellular processes including protein synthesis, macromolecular transport and antiviral response will change, which is attributed to the role of viral 2A protease on cellular proteins. Here we summarized the interactions between viral 2A protease and cellular proteins, which is helpful to better understand the important function of 2A protease and the pathogenic mechanism of enterovirus and provide a new way for prevention and treatment of enterovirus infection.
