Abstract:In order to understand the infection of metacercariae of Clonorchis sinensis in freshwater fish in the high prevalence areas of clonorchiosis, fresh fish samples and raw fish samples were collected from fish farm, retail market and restaurant from August to October 2016. Their metacercarial infections were examined by digestion techniques. The infection rate of metacercariae of C. sinensis in fresh fish samples was 17.24%, the infection rate was 24.24% and 10.00% respectively in the fish ponds and farmers markets. But the samples collected from supermarket were negative. The infection rate in raw fish samples collected from restaurant was 17.74%, which showed that eating raw fish made in local restaurant was a high risk of the infection of C. sinensis. There are some problems in the hygiene management of freshwater fish farming. Hygiene management and education about C. sinensis should be reinforced. And it is necessary to establish traceability information system of freshwater fish in the market.
