Abstract:We aimed to find out the distribution features of virulence genes sitC and iroN of Salmonella enterica isolates from diarrhea patients and healthy people in Fujian, and analyse the distribution differences of these virulence genes in the four common serotypes of Salmonella enteric in Fujian, so as to provide the basis for the further effective prevention and control of salmonellosis. A total of 166 strains of Salmonella enterica isolated from diarrhea patients (121 strains) and healthy people (45 strains) in Fujian Province were selected, including four serotypes of S. typhimus, S. enteritis, S. Del humiliation and S. Stanley. The conventional PCR method was used to amplify the virulence gene sitC and iroN. SPSS 17 was used for data statistics. Results showed that the total detection rates of virulence genes sitC and iroN in 166 isolated strains were 51.81% (86 strains) and 39.76% (66 strains), respectively. There was no significant difference in the detection rate of sitC and iroN in diarrhea patients and healthy people (χsitC2=0.347, P=0.556; χiroN2=3.322, P=0.068). While there was significant difference in the detection rate of sitC and iroN in the four serotypes of S. typhimus, S. enteritis, S. Del humiliation and S. Stanley (χsitC2=11.634, P=0.009; χiroN2=15.020, P=0.002). SitC+iroN+ and sitC-iroN- were the most common patterns of gene delivery. A certain proportion of sitC and iroN were detected in Salmonella isolates from Fujian Province. The distribution of these two virulence genes was different from serotypes, but there was no difference in the distribution of Salmonella isolates between healthy people and diarrhea patients. So the Salmonella isolates from healthy people in Fujian Province have strong survival ability and certain pathogenicity potential, as well as Salmonella isolates from diarrhea patients.
