Abstract:The objectives of this paper are to understand the incidence of hepatitis B reported in Fujian during the past 10 years, and provide reference for the prevention and control of hepatitis B. After integrating the 2008-2017 hepatitis B report from the Fujian Disease Surveillance Information Management System into the database of population data extracted from the Fujian Provincial Bureau of Statistics, we were then capable of describing the basic features of the hepatitis B report and analyzing the regional distribution of the incidence of hepatitis B reporting. The report of incidence of hepatitis B in Fujian Province from 2008 to 2017 showed a decreasing trend year after year (Z=50.53, P<0.01). The average annual reported incidence rate of males (172.94 per 100 thousand) was significantly higher than that of females (79.95 per 100 thousand). The average annual reported incidence rate of age 25 to 30 Group was the highest (214.12 per 100 thousand). For the cumulative reported cases, farmers have been reported the most (37.89%) among all occupations. The cumulative reported incidence rate was higher in the northeast (especially the eastern and central off-shore areas) than in other parts of the province, and was lower in the eastern, central and southern offshore areas (Xiamen and southern Quanzhou) than in other areas of the province. The other trend we could spot was that areas with high incidence of disease gradually move northwards and slightly westwards from the eastern and central regions. Although the incidence of hepatitis B cases in Fujian Province is declining year after year, it is still higher than the national average. The reported incidence rate is higher in the eastern and central coastal areas and is low in the southeastern coastal areas.
