Abstract:In order to explore the anti-tuberculosis activity of the extracts of Fissistigma cavaleriei root. Components extracted from the root of Fissistigma cavaleriei by the bioactivity-guided isolation method were tested by in vitro Alarmar-Blue drug sensitivity test of mycobacteria. Three components were separated and purified, in which component 1 and 2 could effectively inhibit the growth of the rifampicin-resistant and multi-drug resistant Mycobacteria strains. The anti-tuberculosis activity of component 2 was higher than that of other components, with the MIC value of 3/4 multi-drug resistant strains lower than 40 μg/mL. Under the current severe situation of the prevalence of drug-resistant tuberculosis, the extracts of Fissistigma cavaleriei have potential in the drug development of mono- and multidrug-resistant tuberculosis. Its effective components and the mechanism of anti-tuberculosis need further study.
