Abstract:To analyze the epidemiological trend and characteristics of human brucellosis from 2008 to 2018 in Shaanxi Province and to provide scientific evidence for making prevention and control strategies. The surveillance data collected from the China information system for disease control and prevention were analyzed by using Descriptive epidemiology. A total of 10 007 cases were reported with an incidence between 1.55/105 and 4.08/105 with no dead case. The average incidence rate of brucellosis was 2.41/per 10 000. There were statistical differences between the incidence with of different years (P<0.001) and there was no dead case. Brucellosis patients were mainly concentrated in Shaanbei and Guanzhong area and the multiple areas were Yulin, Yan’an and Weinan City which accounted for 86.23% of all cases. The incidence was found in each month and the peak incidence of brucellosis was April to July. The disease were mainly found focused on 40~59 years old people, accounting for 50.19%. Males cases were more than female ones and with sex ratio was of 3.57∶1. Farmers were in the majority, accounting for 89.44%. The average serological positive rate was 4.21%. The median of interval between onset time and diagnosis time was 22 day. In conclusion, the situation of prevention and control of brucellosis in Shaanxi Province is still grim, the prevalence of brucellosis will last for a certain long time. It is suggested to strengthen the management of source of infection and the surveillance of brucellosis, and carry out health education in high-risk population, and comprehensive measures must be made in high-risk population.
