Abstract:Brucellosis is the most widely distributed zoonotic disease in the world. It is also one of the seven most easily overlooked diseases counted by the World Health Organization. It is a Class B infection prescribed by the People’s Republic of China on the prevention and control of infectious diseases. Due to poor management and limited resources, especially in developing countries, the rate of intra-and inter-species(between animals and animals/animal-to-human) infection has increased greatly in recent years, and it still plagues the world. Human brucellosis is easy to involve multiple systems. Once it develops to a chronic stage, brucellosis will be difficult to cure and has a serious impact on human health. The nervous system is involved in one of the complications of brucellosis, called neuroobrucellosis (NB), and the incidence of NB in brucellosis is 1% to 2%. It is estimated that at all in brucellosis, up to 25% of cases have neurological symptoms. This review focuses on the research progress of NB pathogenesis, diagnostic methods and vaccine production, and provides clues for the diagnosis and prevention of this disease in the future.
