Abstract:To investigate Anaplasma spp. infection in the sheep and cow from Jarud Banner and Horqin Left Middle Banner of Tongliao city, Inner Mongolia. Blood samples of 76 sheep and 20 cows were tested by PCR to amplify the 16S rRNA genes of Anaplasma phagocytophilum, A. centrale, A. bovis and gltA genes of A. capra. The test result shows that 37 out of 76 sheep blood samples have been amplified with the A. phagocytophilum target gene, with a positive rate of 48.7%; 16 of 76 sheep blood samples were amplified with the A. centrale target gene, with a positive rate of 21.1%. None of the sheep’s blood samples have been amplified with the A.bovis and A.capra target genes, and none of blood samples of 20 cows have been amplified with all four Anaplasma spp. In conclusion, there is A. phagocytophilum and A. centrale infection existing in sheep from Tongliao region, furthermore, there is potential existence of a natural epidemic source of anaplasmosis and the risk of Human granulocytic anaplasmosis in the region.
