Abstract:A new model of combined medical treatment and prevention for the diagnosis and treatment of echinococcosis was established. Five county-level hospitals providing echinococcosis treatment in Xinjiang were selected as pilot counties in which the combination model was applied. Taking Qapchal County in Yili Prefecture as an example, the preliminary implementation effects of this model are discussed. The evaluation indexes included the rate of registration and management of patients with echinococcosis, the utilization rate of free echinococcosis drugs, the rate of standardized treatment of patients, the rate of follow-up supervision and medication, and the curative effects in patients after treatment. In a review of the treatment of patients with echinococcosis in the Qapchal County People's Hospital of Yili from June 2016 to December 2019, we found that 137 patients were treated with drugs after surgery, of whom 109 were cured, with a cure rate of 79.6%; 59 patients were treated with drugs without surgical indications, with a cure rate of 16.9% and an effective rate of 59.3%; and ten patients were lost to follow-up, and the standard treatment rate was 94.9%. The follow-up rate was 94.9%. The results indicated that the establishment of a new model of combined medical treatment and prevention for the diagnosis and treatment of echinococcosis had standardized the treatment process of medication for patients with echinococcosis to some extent, and this model could be extended to other county-level hospitals designated for echinococcosis treatment.
