Abstract:Mycobacterium tuberculosis is the zoonotic pathogen underlying tuberculosis, which severely endangers human health and public safety. The key factor causing tuberculosis is the destruction of the host immune defense mechanism, thus promoting intracellular survival of the pathogen. In Mycobacterium tuberculosis infection, the mycobacterial effector proteins interact with host target proteins, thus affecting cell apoptosis, inflammatory cytokines expression, antigen presentation, and other aspects, and allowing the pathogen to survive in the host cells, leading to tuberculosis reactivation. Therefore, an in-depth understanding of the interaction and molecular mechanism between Mycobacterium tuberculosis effector proteins and host target proteins should provide new clues for the prevention and treatment of tuberculosis.
