Resistance and genetic analysis of erythromycin in Laribacter Hongkongensis in Guangzhou |

Abstract To understand the resistance of Laribacter hongkongensis(LH) to erythromycin and the distribution of erythromycin resistance genes in Guangzhou. The strains were collected from the Department of Clinical Laboratory of the First Affiliated Hospital of Guangzhou Medical University, 122 strains were isolated from the intestines of frog and grass carp. The erythromycin antibiotic resistance of LH was determined by KB method. The erythromycin resistance genes ereA, ereB, ermA, ermB, ernC, MefA/E, mphA, and SAT4 were detected by PCR. The PCR products with positive results were subjected to sequencing analysis. The resistance rate of LH to erythromycin was 28.7%, among which the resistance rate of frog source strain was 35.1%, and that of fish source strain was 25.9%. Among the 35 strains resistant to erythromycin, the ereA gene detection rate was 30.8% in frog source strain, while the ereA gene was not detected in the fish source strain. These results iudicated that the erythromycin resistance rate of LH is high in Guangzhou. The erythromycin resistance rate of frog source is higher than that of fish source. The erythromycin resistance of LH from frog is related to the ereA gene.
